Paul Stokes

I am married to Sue and we live in Stephenson Avenue and have resided in the ward for some 45 years. Our children attended Gonerby Hill Foot Primary School, as did 3 of our 6 grandchildren. As a family we have been actively involved in the community at Hill Foot and Grantham itself.

 

I previously worked as an officer at SKDC for 28 years and prior to that for several local construction contractors. I am a Chartered Quantity Surveyor. My work at the Council was across several service areas including property and facilities, leisure and cultural services, parks and grounds maintenance and customer services. I was pleased to project manage several key events such as Gravity Fields (3 times ) and the passage of the Olympic Torch through the District.

 

I am passionate about the duties of SKDC and want to bring total transparency in the way that the Council carries out its work. There will be a new parish (town ) council for Grantham in May and I feel that I have the skill sets and community connection to help bring this about by a smooth transition from the current charter trustees. As such I intend to stand in the Arnoldfield ward for Grantham Town Council

 

I am a member of Grantham Independents, and whilst we are all independent in action have a collective togetherness-Grantham Together-with a burning desire to make Grantham great once again. Grantham is a great place to live, work and play-we just want to make it even better. We have made good progress since May 2023 and will be non-erring in our quest to better Grantham in all aspects.
