Granthamian of the Moment

Grantham Together would like to shine a light on people within the Grantham community who have done something amazing.

This month we have two Granthamians to celebrate

Rob Dixon
&
Learna

Learna

Learna is just 14 years old, and has lived in Grantham since birth.

Learna’s dream is to represent Great Britain at the Olympics in the art of Boxing and she is well on her way already! Last weekend she made a great achievement by becoming the 2024 England Boxing Junior Cadet Champion. As the first female boxer in Grantham to achieve this, and only the forth person from Grantham to hold a National Championship we’re incredibly proud of her and her representation of the area.

It’s not an easy achievement, and Learna’s determination means that she has a strict training regime. Her discipline is inspiring, and is a core part of her training and mantra.

Learna’s passion and pride speaks for itself, but if you don’t believe us take a look at the raw emotion in the pictures from last weekend and see for yourself.

Rob Dixon

Rob Dixon is a force of nature, the word no doesn’t exist in his vocabulary.

Rob’s drive ensures that the Place2b can continue to provide the service and safe place to so many men.

He never stops and is an able wingman to Susan Swinburn at the Beehive Community Centre. His organisational skills and find raising expertise are legendary and this town can’t thank him enough.

The Place2Bee is a Men's Mental Health Group located at The Bhive Community Hub in Grantham. Here, individuals struggling with mental health issues can find solace and companionship in a safe environment. Supported by trained volunteers, participants can share their experiences, receive guidance, and connect with others who understand their struggles.

Come and join us for a non-judgemental cuppa in a safe environment.

Support is available Monday and Thursday from 6pm - 9pm
